Adobe's Content Authenticity Web App To Help Creators Thwart AI Scrapers

 


Generative AI tools have raised concerns over data usage, with AI companies scraping content from websites without consent, often including not just text but also images and videos. Many publishers have updated their robots.txt files to block AI web crawlers, but since scraping remains legal, challenges persist in preventing unauthorized data use.

On October 8, Adobe introduced a new tool for content creators: the Adobe Content Authenticity Web App. This free, user-friendly app helps creators apply Content Credentials to their digital work, ensuring proper attribution and protecting their creations from unauthorized use. Content Credentials contain vital metadata about the content’s creator, its origin, and how it was edited, helping creators share these details more transparently.

This initiative comes as 56% of creators express concerns over their work being used to train AI models without permission. Adobe’s new web app allows creators to establish clear GenAI training and usage preferences and securely protect their work throughout its lifecycle.
